Conceived as a blueprint for sustainable urban regeneration, the Tours North Reactivation Plan rethinks the city’s periphery as a fertile ground for inclusive and ecological living. The project envisions a multifunctional district where urbanism and agriculture no longer compete, but coexist through a web of local production, renewable energy, and integrated landscapes. At its heart lies a call for self-reliant communities shaped by circular systems and participatory design.
Guided by its elevated terrain and proximity to the city’s edge, the site is safe from flood risks and ideal for low-carbon development. The former barrier created by the airport is transformed into a connective zone, linking dense residential quarters with vibrant green fields. A network of soft mobility routes such as cycling paths, walkways, and efficient public transit binds the neighborhood into Tours’ wider urban fabric, ensuring accessibility without compromising environmental values.
